An album release concert! Behind Your Eyes, The Stars Are Born is a record five years in the making, a joyful, searching, ultimately hopeful celebration of the divine creativity alive in every human being.

The night after his eighth album releases to the world, Benjamin Jay Thomas comes home to celebrate it. Behind Your Eyes, The Stars Are Born is a record five years in the making — a joyful, searching, ultimately hopeful celebration of the divine creativity alive in every human being. The release show at Snowy Owl Theater is the first full live performance of this music: an evening shaped as a Guided Concert, moving through song, poetry, moments of silence, and communal singing, supported by a handful of other voices from the Bring Forth community.

The set will be a carefully crafted arc... an experience designed to let the music land the way it was written to land: in a room full of people, together.

Behind Your Eyes, The Stars Are Born is Benjamin Jay Thomas's eighth full length album, five years in the making. It is his most sonically adventurous record yet - blending indie folk roots with the warmth and lift of indie pop - and his most personal: a full-throated celebration of the seed of divine creativity at the center of every human being.

The album moves through longing and reconnection, through the rebel cry of imagination refusing to be shrunk, through the medicine of faithful witness and presence. It ends where it begins: in the heart, in the body, in the deep knowing that the Wisdom is you.
Location: Snowy Owl Theater
Date: Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 7:00 PM
Ends: Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 10:00 PM

Summer Reading Buddies is a program designed to develop leadership skills and volunteerism in Older Buddies as they support Little Buddies in emerging literacy skills and a love of reading.

Registration as a Little or Older Buddy is required!

Program dates: Wednesdays, June 24 - August 5

#### Session schedule:

- 11:00-11:15am Older Buddies mini-training session
- 11:15-11:30am Little Buddies arrive; group game/activity
- 11:30-12:00pm One-on-one reading

### Who can be a Little Buddy?

- Pre-K age through 5th grade.
- No minimum reading/writing skills required.
- Must be able to sit with Older Buddy for 30 minutes of reading (can take movement breaks if needed).
- Must be able to attend at least six of the 8 meetings at the library OR arrange to meet your buddy at a different mutually convenient time/place (could even be on Zoom).

### Requirements for volunteering as an Older Buddy

- Older Buddies must be in middle school or high school (grades 6-12).
- You do not have to be a “serious” reader, just someone who enjoys reading or wants to rediscover the joy of reading.
- Attend at least six of the 8 meetings at the library OR arrange to meet your buddy at a different mutually convenient time/place (could even be on Zoom).
- Be fully engaged, kind, and patient with your Little Buddy. They will be looking up to you and following your lead!
- Fill out a pre- and post-survey about your experience.
- No phone or other personal device use during reading sessions.

### What do Older Buddies do?

Mentor a younger reader in pre-K through 5th grade! This is an opportunity to build a connection with a younger reader (Little Buddy) over the summer to support their emerging literacy and a life-long love of reading.

Each session will begin with 15 minutes of training for Older Buddies, 15 minutes of a group game, and 30 minutes of one-on-one reading. Participation counts towards community service hours.
Location: Leavenworth Public Library
Date: Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at 11:00 AM
Ends: Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at 12:00 PM

Do you love the beautiful natural areas and gardens at WRI? Are you interested in learning about the native plants that grow here, and ways to protect them and the ecosystem they are a part of? Then come join our newly rebranded Nature Menders Volunteer Group! (Previously known as Weed Warriors) You will learn all about the common invasive plant species that threaten the local native plant and animal communities here in Leavenworth, all while helping to increase biodiversity at WRI. Tools and gloves will be provided but bring your own if you have something special you prefer using. Dress is layers appropriate for the weather, bring your reusable water bottle, and get ready to get your hands dirty! Nature Menders will meet weekly during Spring and early Summer on Tuesdays from 8:30am-10:30am. We will meet at the far end of the parking lot by the Raven and Nest sculpture, at the top of the Native Plant Garden. Stay for as little or as long as you like. Your help is greatly appreciated!
Nature Menders will meet weekly during Spring and early Summer on Wednesdays from 8:30am-10:30am. We will meet at the far end of the parking lot by the Raven and Nest sculpture, at the top of the Native Plant Garden. Stay for as little or as long as you like. Your help is greatly appreciated! The more hands the merrier when it comes to caring for our native plant neighbors. Please email Tiffa to let them know you plan to attend and sign our 2026 Volunteer Waiver online before arriving.
Location: Wenatchee River Institute
Date: Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at 8:30 AM
Ends: Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at 10:30 AM

Join Cascade Community Markets for their annual Farm to Table Dinner Fundraiser.

The evening will begin with a glass of bubbles and hors d'oeuvres in the silent auction along the bank of the Wenatchee River. The seven-course dining experience will feature produce from your favorite farms, each one introduced by the chef and paired with local wines or elixirs. Chefs this year join us from Szmania's Catering, Salt & Honey Cooking, Das Öl, and Argonaut Cafe. Wine is generously provided by Boudreaux Cellars, Watermill Winery, and Armour Wines. Then enjoy live music and a couple short live auction sessions featuring our biggest item, as well a paddle raise to get those donations flowing for a great cause.

The online silent auction will start before the event, run throughout the evening, and feature gifts and experiences from local businesses.

This year, thanks to sponsorship from Rhein Haus Leavenworth, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Leavenworth Properties, and CCH Rentals, we are thrilled to invite you to our 11th annual Farm to Table experience hosted at Warm Springs Inn & Winery! Proceeds from this event will benefit our local farmers markets in Leavenworth and Cashmere, with the first $5000 in donations made during the event directly funding our Good Farmer Fund.

Another way to join the fun is as a volunteer server! Servers must be 21or older and available from 4:00-9:30PM on August 11th. Experience is not necessary, but a great attitude is. Email ellie.chikkaraju@gmail.com to volunteer.

Please note:
- This is a 21 and over event due to our Liquor Board permitting.
- You can processing fees by purchasing tickets at either market.
Location: Warm Springs Inn
Date: Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at 5:00 PM
Ends: Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at 9:00 PM
